Project Overview
A wave motif from a single block, all the way to the seafront.
Located within the iconic The Light Waterfront development in Penang, The Light Collection II by IJM Land is a luxury seafront residential enclave designed for tropical living. The architecture blends open-air layouts, modern lines, and passive cooling strategies to create a refined coastal lifestyle. Natural materials, ventilation, and landscape integration are central to its low-energy design ethos.
Use of PBM Ventilation Blocks
PBM’s VB 150-200 VentBlocks were specified for carpark façades and semi-enclosed service walls. This block features a one-sided slanted rectangular opening, offering both functional ventilation and sculptural potential.
Through creative orientation and placement of different block sizes, the design team arranged VB 150-200 units to form a wave-inspired façade pattern, reflecting the development’s seafront context.
Key design benefits:
•Natural airflow and reduced heat buildup in service zones
•Minimalist wave effect that visually echoes water movement
•Durable, low-maintenance performance suited for humid coastal exposure
