Project Overview
The PERKESO Rehabilitation Centre in Malacca is a purpose-built national facility focused on physical rehabilitation, occupational therapy, and long-term care. As part of PERKESO’s commitment to health, dignity, and community reintegration, the architectural design emphasized natural ventilation, durability, and cultural identity.
PBM was commissioned to contribute functional and aesthetic solutions using custom-engineered concrete ventilation blocks.

PBM was commissioned to contribute functional and aesthetic solutions using custom-engineered concrete ventilation blocks.
Use of PBM Ventilation Blocks
PBM supplied a combination of standard and custom-made VentBlocks to support passive airflow while creating a façade that reflects PERKESO’s brand and values.
🔹 Featured Models:
VB 402.125 – Standard block with internal openings painted in multiple colors
VB 305.125 – Smaller block for secondary areas
Custom Logo VentBlock – Specially cast to match the size of VB 402.125, featuring the PERKESO logo in relief
These blocks were installed together in a carefully planned layout to form a larger visual representation of the PERKESO logo on the building façade. The internal openings of the VB 402.125 blocks were painted in various colors, selectively highlighting areas around the logo to create visual contrast and draw attention to the pattern. This approach demonstrates how functional building elements can also serve as meaningful branding and public identity in civic architecture.
